The Vintage Caravan is a young band hailing from Álftanes, Iceland. The band was formed in 2006 by Óskar Logi Ágústsson and Guðjón Reynisson before bassist Alexander Örn Númason joined after the first studio album. There has been just one line-up change since the founding of the band when Stefán Ari Stefánsson replaced Guðjón Reynisson on drums in 2015. The band has released three studio albums.
The band is known for their energetic stage performance and has been very active live for the past few years. In 2011 the band has released their self-titled debut. Their second effort, »Voyage«, released in 2012 initially by the Icelandic record label SenaSena, is scheduled for an early 2014 re-release via Nuclear Blast.
Their 3rd trick followed in May 2015 in the form of »Arrival«. The ensuing campaign for this release was full of highlights: Their very first, 2-month European headline tour, a Latin American headline tour, 2 UK headline tours, supporting the legendary EUROPE in the European mainland & Scandinavia, performing at 60+ festivals (Roskilde, Graspop Metal Meeting, Wacken Open Air, and Hellfest to name but a few)... Events the band never had dared to dream of when they originally formed.
Anyway, whoever thought that »Arrival« would be the end of the story, will be proved wrong by the band’s 4th studio album entitled »Gateways« released on August 2018 through Nuclear Blast, on which the band cements and also refines their own style. The record was received very well, and led to the band’s first ever chart entry in Germany (#75), followed by a successful EU/UK/Russian tour in autumn 2018. The successful first part of the Gateways Tour was so much fun, The Vintage Caravan embarked on the Gateways European Tour Part II in April/May 2019. Additionally, new festival appearances and gig dates have been added to the band’s touring schedule.
The Vintage Caravan has signed a worldwide contract with Napalm Records in April 2020. To annonce their signing with Napalm Records The band played a Surprise Live Acoustic Set on the Austrian independent record label's Facebook page!
